Bibimbap: A Korean Comfort Food Every Student Should Try
Korean Food
Bibimbap -- literally "mixed rice" -- is one of the most iconic and beginner-friendly Korean dishes, and a great first stop for international students still getting used to Korean food. A bowl usually comes with warm rice, a mix of seasoned vegetables, a protein (often beef or a fried egg), and a spoonful of gochujang (Korean chili paste) on top. Everything gets mixed together right before eating, so every bite is a little different. It's widely available near universities, comes in a cheap student-budget-friendly price range, and can be easily adjusted for different spice tolerances or dietary needs. Watch the short clip above for a quick look at what it actually looks like.
