Study in Korea from Nepal

The Republic of Korea's embassy in Kathmandu runs visa appointments on a set weekly schedule — new slots open every Monday and Wednesday through Korea's online consular appointment system.

Nepal is on Korea's official list of 35 tuberculosis high-risk countries (Ministry of Justice, 2026), so any stay of more than 90 days requires a TB certificate from a hospital designated by the Korean embassy.

Nepal is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, so diplomas and transcripts still need full consular legalization: authenticated first by Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then legalized again by the Korean Embassy in Kathmandu. Budget extra time for this two-step process compared to countries that can use a single apostille.

The Ministry of Justice sets no fixed amount: you must show one year of tuition plus living costs (six months for a D-4 language course), and your university states the figure in its admission guide. A large deposit made right before applying can be questioned as borrowed money, so keep the balance settled in your account.
