Privacy Policy

1. Personal information we collect

• When you sign up with email: email address, password (stored only as a hash), preferred language
• When you sign up or log in with Google: the email address and unique account identifier of your Google account. We do not receive your name, photo or other profile information, and no password is stored.
• When you enter personal details: name, date of birth, nationality, passport number, passport expiry date
• When you enter your education: school name, degree level, major, grades, language test scores, (expected) graduation date
• When you enter study plans: preferred universities, preferred major, intake year
• When you use the Document Locker: the document files you upload (diplomas, passport copy, financial statements, etc.)
• When you contact an advisor: name, contact channel (KakaoTalk, WhatsApp or WeChat ID, or email), nationality, your message
• When you request a visa document checklist or visa-change alerts: email address
• Collected automatically while you use the Service: access logs, session cookies
• Collected automatically by analytics and advertising tools: cookie-based identifiers, usage records such as pages visited and clicks, device and browser information, referral source (see section 9)

2. Why we use it

• Confirming sign-up, verifying your identity and keeping you logged in
• Providing the Document Locker for tracking admission and visa documents
• Sending emails and alerts in your preferred language
• Preventing misuse and keeping accounts secure (for example, limiting login attempts)
• Sharing documents with partner agencies you choose, only with your consent
• Answering your enquiries and sending the materials or alerts you requested

3. How long we keep it

We delete your personal information without delay when you close your account, unless a law requires us to keep it for a set period, in which case we keep it for that period only.

4. Service providers that process data for us

• Resend (email delivery): processes email addresses to send verification codes and alerts
• Cloudflare (servers and storage): provides the infrastructure that runs the Service and stores data
• Google LLC (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager): processes cookie-based usage records for usage statistics
• Meta Platforms, Inc. (Meta Pixel): processes cookie-based usage records to measure advertising and show personalised ads

5. Sharing with third parties

We do not give your personal information to third parties beyond the providers above, except:

• Partner agencies you select yourself in the Document Locker (up to three) after giving separate consent: the documents you choose to share and your email, name and nationality. They use this to advise and support your admission and visa preparation. You can stop sharing at any time.
• When the law requires it, or investigative authorities request it following legal procedures

6. Your rights

You can view and correct your personal information at any time, and ask us to delete it by closing your account. You can replace documents in the Document Locker by uploading them again.

7. How we destroy data

Personal information stored as electronic files is permanently deleted in a way that cannot be recovered, without delay once there is a reason to destroy it.

8. Security measures

• Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2; we never keep the original.
• Login sessions use random tokens, and the server stores only a hash of each token.
• Files in the Document Locker can be viewed only by you and the agencies you choose to share them with.
• All connections are encrypted with HTTPS.

9. Cookies and behavioural data

We use the tools below for usage statistics and advertising measurement, which collect behavioural data (pages visited, clicks, referral source, device and browser information) through cookies. We do not send information that directly identifies you, such as your name, email or passport number, to these tools.

• Google Analytics (installed through Google Tag Manager): usage statistics
• Meta Pixel: advertising measurement and personalised ads

To opt out:

• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings
• Google Analytics: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout)
• Meta personalised ads: change "Ads based on data from partners" in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings

Refusing cookies does not stop you from using the Service, though some features may work differently.

10. Use of Google account information

When you sign up or log in with Google, we receive only your email address and a unique account identifier from Google, and use them only to create your account and log you in. We do not use this information for advertising and do not sell or give it to third parties.
